Real-life burning questions
What would be your response if anyone asked any of these top 10 burning questions youths ask about God?
We carefully sat down and researched some tough questions youths ask about God and their faith, and just for a minute we thought how difficult it must have be for them to bottle these questions inside. But the question is, how well do we know God ourselves? Do some of us secretly harbor these questions in our heart without a definite answer?
These questions would open your eyes to some of the questions you never thought people would ask but they ask anyway!
Feel Free to drop your answers to any of the questions we’ve listed out. We would love to hear your answers!
- Number 1 – Do you believe all your non-Christian friends are gonna go to Hell? How do you reconcile this with “people should be allowed to believe what they like”?
- Number 2 – I have a born again family member who says that anyone who doesn’t have Jesus as their only savior goes to hell for eternity. This includes babies that were not baptized, all other religions regardless of how good the person is, even Catholics who don’t believe the correct way. Who would want to believe in this?! It’s insanity to me.
- Number 3 – I always wrestled with this. I grew up Christian and my grandparents weren’t and I remembered when they died being crushed that they were going to Hell. That’s when I started to question everything. It didn’t make sense that my wonderful grandparents were going to hell for not believing in God, they were good people! Were they really going to spend an eternity in hell because they weren’t Christian for their 70-80 years of life? That seems crazy to me now. People getting punished for eternity for not being a christian during their relatively short life span? Also I’m gay but lead what I think is a good, moral life. Am I really going to Hell because of one aspect of my life I can’t control?
- Number 4 – When something goes well in your life, or something good happens, do you thank God? When something goes bad in your life or something horrid happens, do you blame God? It always struck me as odd to credit God with being responsible for the good in your life but then not to see him as culpable for the bad.
- Number 5 – What is the point in prayer if it’s all part of God’s plan? Or freewill if it’s all part of God’s plan?
- Number 6 – Do you believe God can change His mind?
- Number 7 – How do you know you have the right faith? I’m sure Hindus halfway around the world feel it just as deeply as you do. Why would God condemn vast swathes of the population simply for being born in the wrong society?
- Number 8 – If God is all-knowing, therefore he knew when he created us we would become sinners and the majority of people would go to hell. So why did he create us?
- Number 9 – If God is all loving, why did he allow the Satan to take away all the good stuff from Job? Doesn’t make sense does it?
- Number 10 – Can someone explain what Sin means. I genuinely don’t understand what it means.
